Hot Cross Bun Cocktail
A warming, spiced dessert cocktail that tastes like Easter in a glass.
Serves: 1 Glassware: Coupe or rocks glass Garnish: Freshly grated nutmeg, cinnamon stick, or cross-shaped orange peel.
Ingredients
- 2 shots Coffee Liqueur (e.g. Kahlúa)
- 2 shots The Royal Rhino African Cream Liqueur
- 1 shot Spiced Rum (for that warming, bun-like spice)
- ½ shot Cointreau or Orange Liqueur (adds that hint of citrus peel)
- 2 shot ml Full cream milk or Oat milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Dash of vanilla extract (optional but lovely)
- Small pinch of ground cinnamon and nutmeg
Method
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well for about 15–20 seconds, until well-chilled and slightly frothy.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or serve over ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with cinnamon and a roasted marshmallow. For flair, float a small orange peel cut into a cross.
Notes
- For an extra dessert-y finish, you can rim the glass with cinnamon sugar.
- Swap the milk for oat or almond milk to make it dairy-light, while still creamy.
